Care Options for Kids (COFK) is proud to announce that Janelle Thomas, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC, CPN, CBC, has been named Director, Clinical Education and Training.

Janelle’s passion for pediatric healthcare has been evident throughout her 10-year nursing career. Since joining Care Options for Kids in 2020, she has been instrumental in developing robust education programs, including a preceptor program and a new graduate program. Her expertise in pediatric nursing and dedication to education will greatly benefit our training initiatives, ensuring our team continues to provide the highest quality care.

“Janelle is an experienced pediatric nurse practitioner that skillfully and passionately shares her expertise with patients, families and staff.  Her commitment and dedication is an inspiration to all,” said Diane McCullom, Chief Clinical Officer at Care Options for Kids.

“Nothing is more rewarding in pediatric home health care than creating a connection with my patient that will last a lifetime. I love to use my patients' stories in my education to COFK nurses. What I also find rewarding is connecting with our nurses through education. I strive daily to help nurses at all skill levels in order to provide safe and competent care to our patients. As the Director of Education and Training, I am looking forward to standardizing the education and training across the Nursing+ platform,” adds Thomas.

The current Chair of the First Coast Technical College Practical Nursing Advisory Board and Treasurer of the Society of Pediatric Nursing chapter of South Florida, Thomas earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Georgia Southern University, and a Master’s degree in Nursing focusing on Pediatric Primary Care from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
