We here at Care Options for Kids, formerly The Hello Foundation started our Hello Live webinar series because we saw a need in the greater SLP community for CEUs that were easy to access, relevant to topics school SLPs care about, and free. As an SLP owned and operated company, we know that easy access to quality and economical continuing education is hard to come by. And, as a company with a history of serving some of the most remote school districts in the country, we know that accessing CEUs is particularly difficult for our colleagues in rural locations. Thus, ever striving to part of the proverbial solution, Hello Live was born.
Over the last 3 years we have offered over 30, 30-minute short courses on a wide variety of topics that you told us you wanted to hear about. Our courses on everything from /r/ therapy to SLP-A supervision have reached hundreds of clinicians from all over the country. When we heard from you that you wanted to be able to watch the webcasts but weren’t able to log-in at the time it was offered, we were able to make them available to anyone after the fact for a small fee. We asked ourselves, though, if there was a way we could make our content even more easily accessible to our audience and, after much brainstorming and discussion, we think we’ve done it.
Today, we’re excited to announce the next evolution of Hello Live! Here are the details:
- All previous Hello Live broadcasts will now be available 24/7 for f-r-e-e via our YouTube channel. While we are no longer able to offer CE credits for these videos due to Oregon Board of Examiners rules and regulations, we will be offering CEUs via our new venture …
- Podcasts! We will be bringing you all of the quality CEU content you have come to expect from us, but you will now be able to access it in what we hope will be the most convenient way possible. You will now be able to listen to great information while you drive, run, or clean the bathroom. You’ll have the ability to listen as many times as you’d like, to go back and hear that last tidbit again, and share the information with colleagues and administrators at the click of a button. And, as always, you will receive Oregon Board of Examiners approved CEUs when you’re done listening.
But what we’re really excited about is creating a space for discussions about topics school SLPs care about most. After each podcast, we’ll host an “after show,” a coffee tawk if you will, where we’ll unpack the presentation a bit, and ask our guests your questions. We’ll be letting you know ahead of time who we’re talking to and what we’re talking about so you can be part of the discussion. Have a tough /r/ case you want to ask Jane about? Wonder how to talk to your administrator about the 3:1 model? Is there something about dynamic assessment that you just can’t seem to implement? You will now be able to get answers to all of these questions, and so many more, in what we hope will be a fun and accessible format.
